Refreshing the UI programmatically

Hey,
I have a usecase where the user can activate and deactivate different MPS typesystem rules. After a rule has been deactivated with a Action, the warning and error messages will still be attached to the nodes, until the UI is refreshed.
So far I have not found a way to refresh the UI programmatically, but I assume that this should be very easy?
It would be great if someone could comment in this thread ;)
Any help would be appreciated.

This does the same as pressing the F5 key: 
editorContext.getNodeEditorComponent().update();
